Get The Lowdown On Gasparilla Traffic

The Florida Department of Transportation offers several ways for motorists to navigate around or through Gasparilla Pirate Fest traffic.

TAMPA, FL – Tampa Bay area motorists hoping to take part in the weekend’s Gasparilla Pirate Fest celebrations will need to know what roads are clear and which ones to avoid.

To help out, the Florida Department of Transportation reminds that it offers several ways for motorists to get real-time information about local traffic. Gasparilla goers (and those hoping to avoid the crunch all together) can call 511 on their phones, visit FL511.com online, download the 511 mobile app or follow 511 on Twitter.

The 511 Traveler Information System enables motorists to “stay up-to-date on crashes, congestion, construction and more,” the state noted in an email to media. “The 511 system provides information on all of Florida’s interstates, toll roads and other major metropolitan roadways, including those near the event, such as I-4, I-75 and I-275.”
