More than one hundred Girl Scouts in grades 2 through 9 will learn to play ice hockey with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and meet David Andreychuk and Brian Bradley at the St. Pete Times Forum on Wednesday, Nov. 16.

From 5 p.m to 8 p.m., girls will skate on the same ice as the pros and learn the fundamentals of ice hockey during two hours of on-ice instruction from certified USA Hockey instructors and Tampa Bay Lightning personnel at the venue at 401 Channelside Drive.

The girls will also tour a visiting team’s locker room and try on full-size hockey gear that the professionals wear and enjoy dinner from in SoHo.

“We’re excited to partner with the Tampa Bay Lightning to bring this event to girls from throughout the Bay area,” said Maureen Cacioppo, Girl Scouts of West Central Florida outdoor program manager. “It’s a great way to introduce girls to something they may never have tried before – it’s awesome!”
