International Women's Soccer Action Coming To Tampa

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area soccer fans who want to watch as the United States, England, France and Germany’s women’s teams battle it out in the SheBelieves Cup will get their chance later this week.

The international tournament comes to town March 3, featuring doubleheaders at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium. Tournament play will continue March 6 in Nashville and March 9 in Boca Raton. The four teams coming to Tampa are all ranked among the world’s top 5.

The USA is hosting the 2016 SheBelieves Cup. The doubleheaders in Tampa are Germany vs. France and USA vs. England, the Tampa Sports Authority announced Monday morning. Germany and France will take the Tampa field first at 5 p.m. March 3 with the USA vs. England match set for 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the doubleheaders are available on ussoccer.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and at all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets will only be sold at Raymond James Stadium on the day of the event, organizers note. Ticket prices start at $28 and climb to $300 for field seating.

The winner of the SheBelieves tournament is based on total points with three points awarded for each win and one for ties. The USA team is currently ranked first in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings. Germany is ranked second, France third and England fifth.
