Lightning Coach Jon Cooper to Remain in Tampa Bay
The multi-year deal for the head coach was announced Friday.

Tampa Bay Lightning fans eager to find out whether head coach Jon Cooper would stick around after last year’s Stanley Cup run have their answer.
Team general manager Steve Yzerman announced Friday that Cooper has signed a multi-year contract extension. Cooper’s been the franchise’s head coach since March 25, 2013.
During his time with the team, Cooper has led the Lightning to a 112-70-23 record and helped bring the team into the Stanley Cup Playoffs in each of his first two full seasons of coaching in Tampa, the team noted in a media release.
