Man Accused Of Abusing 7-Month-Old Child: Hillsborough Sheriff
A Riverview man was accused of abusing a 7-month-year-old child, who suffered a brain bleed and spinal injury while in his care, HCSO said.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A Riverview man is accused of abusing a 7-month-old in his care, leaving the child with severe injuries, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Robert Weatherholt, 38, was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated child abuse.
An investigation into Weatherholt began on Jan. 18, when the child suffered a brain bleed and a spinal injury, while in his care, the sheriff’s office said.

Detectives and doctors determined that his account of what happened didn’t match the severity of the infant’s injuries.

“This child was placed in the care of someone expected to protect them, and instead, they suffered unimaginable harm,” Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to the tireless work of our detectives over months of investigation, we are one step closer to justice for this child, and this individual will face the full extent of the law.”
