Floyd’s 99 Barbershop of South Tampa today announced plans for their grand opening event to be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The day-long celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, an in-shop scavenger hunt, prizes, and more. The shop, located at 1155 S. Dale Mabry Highway, Unit 6, in South Tampa, is owned and operated by franchisee Stephanie Noyes, a lifelong member of the Tampa Bay community. “Floyd’s is all about giving our customers an amplified experience, and we can’t wait to create that excitement at our grand opening event,” said Stephanie, noting that this is her third Floyd’s location, with shops already open in Clearwater and St. Pete. “This is an opportunity for the community to celebrate with us, meet the stylists, and even get a haircut,” she said. “Floyd’s is for everyone – men, women, and kids – and we’ll be accepting walk-in appointments all day.” The South Tampa location is offering 50% off haircuts for the first 30 days, beginning on Friday. TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Police Department is investigating a critical injury crash that closed westbound lanes on the Courtney Campbell Causeway for a while Monday morning.According to the agency, a red Pontiac was heading westbound on the causeway around 3:18 a.m. The driver attempted to pass a black Nissan and lost control of his car. When he did, the Pontiac struck the Nissan, sending both cars spinning out of control and into a guardrail.One of the Pontiac's passengers was ejected from the car, an email from the police department stated.After the crash, the driver of the Pontiac tried to flee the scene on foot. A Clearwater Police officer, however, caught up with him and brought him into custody.The driver of the Pontiac suffered minor injuries, police say. His two passengers were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. One suffered life-threatening injuries, the email said.The driver of the Nissan escaped with minor injuries.The names of those involved and charges for the Pontiac's driver have not yet been released.Image via Shutterstock
