Panthers Clinch District 6 with Victory over Alonso.
The Plant Panthers (7-0, 2-0 Class 8A District 6) rolled the Alonso Ravens (5-2, 1-1 Class 8A District 6) in district play Thursday night, Oct. 20.
With some help from Wharton knocking Bloomingdale back to 0-2 in the district, the Plant Panthers clinched District 6 in their first year with a 48-6 win over Alonso Ravens Thursday night, Oct. 20.
"It was a great effort across the board," said head coach Robert Weiner.
Junior running back Wes Bullock and senior receiver Antonio Crawford rushed for touchdowns in the first quarter.

Alonso senior running back Brandon Holloway scored on a 45-yard catch-and-run to make it 14-6 after the missed extra point but that was as close as they would come.
"We had some big turnovers that produced points in the second quarter," said Weiner.

The Panthers carried a 28-6 lead at the half.
A 70-yard catch and run play from junior running back Paris Bostick broke the back of the Ravens when the extra point made it 41-6.
"James had a good night at quarterback, Stalls and Tate Rodgers made some good plays," said Weiner.
The Panthers will travel to Armwood next week to take on the undefeated Hawks.
Someone is coming out of there with a loss.
However, there is a great deal of pressure off, having already clinched the district title.
"It's going to be an exciting game where we get to play a great football team," said Weiner. "It's nice that it doesn't have playoff implications, kind of like playing with the house's money."
