Rick Scott, Scott Walker Lampooned on Climate Change Site
The website invites users to '#ScottAway The Truth.'

Written and unwritten policies in two states that allegedly ban government workers from using terms like “climate change” and “global warming” have caught the attention of activists who have launched a satirical website in response.
ScottAway.com was being pushed especially hard on Tuesday as Republic presidential hopefuls gathered at the Disney Yacht Club Resort for an economic growth summit hosted by Florida Gov. Rick Scott, one of the two Scotts lampooned on the new site.
The summit, Bay News 9 reported, includes such speakers as former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and others. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker – the second Scott named on the activist website – is also a speaker at the event.

ScottAway.com was launched by Forecast the Facts and NextGen Climate in response to Scott and Walker’s alleged prohibitions on state employees speaking about climate change, a media release stated.
“The website, featured today via Facebook and Twitter advertisements that target Florida and Wisconsin State employees, invites users to ‘#ScottAway’ the impacts of climate change with the simple click of a button,” the media release stated.

Scott has made national headlines for an alleged unwritten policy that bans state employees from using the words “global warming” or “climate change.” While Scott has denied the allegations, activists have demanded an investigation.
Wisconsin’s Board of Commissioners of Public Lands voted in April to ban staff there from engaging in work related to global warming or climate change, Bloomberg reported. Activists have since sent a petition with 100,000 names on it demanding that Walker take action to condemn the vote.
Members of Forecast the Facts and NextGen Climate also planned to be visible outside Rick Scott’s Florida summit.
“Unlike visitors to ScottAway.com, our elected officials can’t solve climate change by not talking about it.” Forecast the Facts Campaign Director Brant Olson was quoted in the release as saying. “Any credible conversation about long term economic growth has to include a conversation about climate change.”
