Knights Pummel Tigers 44-0
The Robinson Knights pounded the Middleton Tigers in the final district game of the season Friday night, Nov. 4.
On a night when the Knights (8-1, 7-1 Class 5A District 8) might get caught looking ahead at Plant next Thursday, with the playoff spot already in hand, the Knights did anything but overlook the Tigers (0-10, 0-9).
"We're not a quiet team anymore," said head coach Mike DePue.
The Knights jumped all over the Tigers, scoring 24 points in the first quarter.

"We never looked back," said DePue.
A big chunk of that 24 came in a flash when senior Byron Pringle returned the kickoff from a defensive safety.

DePue remarked that junior running back Martin Ruiz had a "solid game".
"Our defense played one of the better games of the year tonight," said DePue.
It was the first complete-game shutout of the season for the Knights. DePue pointed out that the first team defense probably didn't even give up positive yardage to the Middleton offense.
"We have a sense of purpose, now. Our goal is to play championship-calibre football the next few weeks," said DePue. "We're peaking at the right time."
The Knights travel to take on crosstown rival Plant (8-1, 3-0 Class 8A District 6) on Nov. 10.
