South Tampa Named 6th 'Sexiest' Neighborhood in America

When it comes to sex appeal, South Tampa has it.

That’s the conclusion of the writers at Thrillist.com. The website just released its Top 10 list of the Sexiest Neighborhoods in America with the Bay area community ranking No. 6 on the list.

“The area encompasses neighborhoods that share an exploding restaurant scene, walkable bars, and new condo construction that’ve drawn the best, brightest, and – most importantly – hottest young people in Florida who just can’t stomach the idea of living in…. ew… Miami,” the authors explain.

South Tampa beat out New York’s SoHo, Atlanta’s Buckhead, Washington, D.C.’s 14th St. and Boston’s Back Bay for its sixth-place honors.

While Miami is knocked in the Tampa entry, it seems the pitfalls weren’t enough to keep that city off the list. That city’s Brickell and South Beach neighborhoods both ranked above South Tampa with South Beach coming in the number one spot.

Incidentally, Tampa was also named the sixth snobbiest city by a travel magazine.
