Sunshine Returns to Tampa Bay's Forecast

Find out what's in store for the rest of the workweek.

After days of pounding rain that have left some Tampa Bay area counties still under a flood watch, the sun is starting to peek out from the clouds throughout most of the region.

With a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms Tuesday, the National Weather Service has kept its flood watch warning in place for Pasco, Hillsborough and Pinellas counties until 8 p.m. After Tuesday passes, however, the forecast for the rest of the workweek returns to a more normalized summer pattern with sunshine in the cards.

Here’s what the weather service says is in store for the Bay area for the rest of the workweek:

Wednesday

  • High temperature – Upper 80s
  • Low temperature – Upper 70s
  • Rain chances – The weather service says the day should be mostly sun and the night partly cloudy

Thursday

  • High temperature – Upper 80s
  • Low temperature – Upper 70s
  • Rain chances – About 20 percent in the day and evening hours

Friday

  • High temperature – Mid to upper 80s
  • Low temperature – Upper 70s
  • Rain chances – About 20 percent in the day and evening hours

While the rest of the week is shaping up to be nice, many parts of the Tampa Bay are still flooded after days of record-breaking rainfall. Motorists are urged to use caution on area roads and to avoid areas with standing water. Some parts of the region are also still under evacuation orders until flood waters recede.
