Floyd’s 99 Barbershop of South Tampa today announced plans for their grand opening event to be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The day-long celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, an in-shop scavenger hunt, prizes, and more. The shop, located at 1155 S. Dale Mabry Highway, Unit 6, in South Tampa, is owned and operated by franchisee Stephanie Noyes, a lifelong member of the Tampa Bay community. “Floyd’s is all about giving our customers an amplified experience, and we can’t wait to create that excitement at our grand opening event,” said Stephanie, noting that this is her third Floyd’s location, with shops already open in Clearwater and St. Pete. “This is an opportunity for the community to celebrate with us, meet the stylists, and even get a haircut,” she said. “Floyd’s is for everyone – men, women, and kids – and we’ll be accepting walk-in appointments all day.” The South Tampa location is offering 50% off haircuts for the first 30 days, beginning on Friday. More than 500 veterans with disabilities will meet in Tampa to compete in the largest wheelchair sporting event in the world, the <a href="http://www.va.gov/opa/speceven/wcg/index.asp" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">National Veterans Wheelchair Games</a>. The Department of Veterans Affairs and the Paralyzed Veterans of America recently selected the city as the host site for the 2013 edition of the games. The event offers 17 sports to veterans who use wheelchairs due to spinal cord injuries, amputations and neurological diseases. The Games promote rehabilitation through competition in such sports as basketball, rugby, softball, handcycling. The event will take place from July 13-18, 2013. The Tampa Convention Center and St. Pete Times Forum will serve as the main venues for the annual event. Other local venues will host such ancillary events as bowling, swimming, track, field, motorized rally, trapshooting and archery.
