Watch: 57-Foot Lightning Logo Made From Dunkin' Donuts
The Tampa Bay Lightning, Hillsborough County and Dunkin' Donuts teamed up to create a sweet spectacle in honor of the Bolts' playoff run.
TAMPA, FL — As the Tampa Bay Lightning continue to produce wins in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, support for the team has reached a sweet new level.
To prove it, the Lightning, Hillsborough County and Dunkin’ Donuts teamed up Tuesday to create a 57-foot Bolts’ logo. That logo, of course, was created using Dunkin’ Donuts that were donated by the company and then handed out to visitors who stopped by Joe Chillura Courthouse Square in downtown Tampa. Coffee was even thrown into the giveaway to help wash those doughnuts down.
The Lightning went on Tuesday night to win their third game in Round One play against the Detroit Red Wings. The team plays again Thursday and is hoping to clinch a pass into Round Two. Should the Bolts not earn the fourth win needed to claim the series, they'll play again on Sunday in Detroit.

The doughnut logo isn’t the first time the team’s success has been celebrated in a big and very edible way. Last year, Harvestmoon Farm in Masaryktown celebrated the team’s showing in the Stanley Cup Finals against the Chicago Blackhawks. While the Lightning ultimately lost the series and the cup, the Eastern Conference champs made Tampa Bay proud enough for the farm to create a giant corn maze in honor of the Bolts’ accomplishments. The maze included a giant Bolts logo in the center along with the words Tampa Bay Lightning and Go Bolts.
The Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup at the end of the 2003-04 season. The team was founded in 1992.
