
Lower rain chances kick off the workweek – and the first week of school – in the Tampa Bay area, but there’s a price to pay for sunshine.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday, Tuesday, and perhaps Wednesday, are likely to be rather hot and steamy.
Monday’s 20 percent chance of rain and high around 92 in much of the Bay will melt into a Tuesday where forecasters expect temperatures to climb a bit higher. The good news for Tuesday, however, is that rain chances are almost nil with a mostly sunny day forecast in the Tampa area.

Tuesday night brings partly cloudy skies and a low temperature down in the upper 70s. Conditions shift heading into Wednesday when forecasters anticipate a 40 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon hours and about a 30 percent chance in the evening. The high, however, is still expected to break the 90 mark. Lows Wednesday are expected to drop only into the upper 70s.

Thursday
- High temperature – Upper 80s
- Low temperature – Mid-70s
- Rain chances – About 50 percent in the daytime and 30 percent in the overnight hours.
Friday
- High temperature – Upper 80s
- Low temperature – Mid-70s
- Rain chances – Rain chances during the daytime hours are forecast as likely at 60 percent. Those chances drop to about 30 percent in the overnight hours.
The weekend is also expected to bring some rain with a 50 percent chance of storms forecast for Saturday and Sunday in much of the region.
