Workweek Weather: Flood Watch Continues
More rain is anticipated in the Tampa Bay area this week.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping for a chance to dry out after a weekend that left some communities flooded aren’t likely to see their wishes materialize for a few days at least.
In fact, the National Weather Service has extended its flood watch advisory for the entire region through 8 p.m. Monday. Forecasters say Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, Pinellas and Pasco counties could all witness more heavy storms as the day moves forward. In Pasco, some communities have been evacuated as waters along the Anclote River continue to rise. Rip current warnings have also gone up along the Bay area’s coastline with a high risk anticipated from Pinellas southward.
Monday’s forecast calls for an 80 percent chance of showers during the daytime hours and between 20 and 50 percent overnight. On the upside, the rain should keep temperatures down in the upper 80s in most parts of the region.
