Workweek Weather: What to Expect

Tampa Bay area residents may want to brace for another hot, humid and potentially stormy week.

According to the National Weather Service, the workweek will bring high temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s most days with a potential for thunderstorms present on most afternoons. The week kicks off with a high around 90 on Monday in most parts of the bay and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours. Overnight lows should only fall into the low 70s.

Tuesday brings a near repeat of Monday’s conditions, but rain chances are a bit higher, set at 30 percent. Overnight lows should fall into the mid-70s. Rain chances persist in the 30 percent range into Wednesday with a high in the upper 80s and a low in the upper 70s anticipated.

A mostly sunny Thursday with a high around 90 is expected to bring a break from rain chances. Friday is anticipated to be the warmest day of the week with a high around 91. Rain chances to kick off the weekend are set at 20 percent.

Storms that develop throughout the week have the potential of producing strong, gusty winds, locally heavy rain and frequent, deadly lightning strikes, forecasters warn.
