1 Dead, 2 Injured In Boat Crash Near Coast Guard Station
The fatal Friday night boat crash remains under investigation by authorities.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — One person is dead and two were injured when two boats collided in St. Petersburg waters Friday night.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the crash occurred near its St. Petersburg station. Coast guardsmen heard the crash at 9:50 p.m. and launched a 29-foot response boat immediately. The guardsmen began providing medical assistance to the injured boaters, an email from the coast guard said.
A third person was confirmed dead at the scene, the coast guard said.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue reported that one person was seriously injured and was taken as a trauma alert to Bayfront Medical. The other person suffered non-life-threatening injuries, both agencies said.
A total of five people were on the two boats when they collided, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The names of those involved have not been released as of yet.
"Our deepest sympathies are with the family and loved ones of the boater killed in this tragic collision," said Capt. Gregory Case, commander of Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg. "We wish the injured a full and speedy recovery."
No further information is being released at this time.
