Murder-Suicide Suspected in St. Pete Shooting

St. Petersburg, FL -- The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a fatal double shooting that happened Wednesday evening.

According to the agency, two people were shot and killed in the 1900 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North shortly before 6 p.m. When police arrived, a woman was being taken to Bayfront Health. Police say she died.

Officers entered the home and found a man dead inside, the agency wrote in an email to media.

"Preliminary information indicates murder-suicide," the email said.

No other information is available at this time, including the victim's names.
