ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a BP gas station in St. Petersburg.
Samuel Greenberg was charged with robbery with a deadly weapon for the robbery of the gas station at 4125 16th Street N., St. Petersburg police said in a news release issued Tuesday.
Greenberg went into the gas station just before 10:30 p.m. and demanded money from the cash register while pointing a gun at the clerk, police said. The amount stolen wasn’t released.
Detectives identified him as the suspect and confirmed that he was staying at a hotel on Gandy Boulevard.
Officers used drones and K9 units to help find him at the hotel, where he was taken into custody.
During the arrest, Greenberg was found with cash and the weapon used in the robbery, police said.
