Cyclist Killed In Hit-and-Run

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A 58-year-old St. Petersburg man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run as he rode his bicycle Thursday night on the 3300 block of 6th Street South, according to police.
The St. Petersburg Police Department responded at 11:48 p.m. to a call of a bicycle rider injured in the roadway.
Investigators determined an unknown vehicle had hit the man and left the scene, the agency said.

The bicyclist, identified as John H. Sampson, was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, police said.
