Downtown Shooting Suspect Sought, Reward Offered: St. Pete Police

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect in an early Saturday morning shooting in downtown St. Petersburg. (Watch a video of the suspect and his friends below.)

The suspect, a Black man with short dreads who is thought to be 17 to 20 years old, fired a gun into a crowd of people during a brawl on the sidewalk of Third Street North near Central Avenue, the St. Petersburg Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

Three people were shot and four others had minor injuries.

He was last seen wearing a blue and white basketball jersey with the word Sierra and the number 0 on the front and the word James on the back.

Police shared a video clip of the suspect walking with friends on the night of the shooting.

Detectives would like to identify and speak with the young men indicated by red arrows. The other young men aren’t considered suspects in the shooting, but investigators believe they may have information about it, police said.
