Downtown St. Pete Shooting Person Of Interest Sought: Police
Detectives are looking to identify a person of interest in the early Saturday morning shooting in downtown St. Petersburg, police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Detectives are asking for public assistance in identifying a person of interest in an early Saturday morning shooting in downtown St. Petersburg.
The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. after a fight broke out between two groups of men on the sidewalk of Third Street North near Central Avenue, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.
Three men were shot in their legs, suffering non-life-threatening injuries. Four other people — two men and two women — also suffered minor injuries, police said.

SPPD had extra patrols on duty in the area at the time of the shooting and were able to respond quickly, but the shooter or shooters had already left the scene, the agency said. Detectives are working to identify them.
The man pictured was wearing a blue and white jersey with the word “Sierra” and the number 0 on the front. The back of his jersey had the word “James” and number 0 on it.
