Downtown St. Pete Toastmasters Announces Contest Winners

Downtown St. Pete Toastmasters held its Club Speech Contests on Thursday, February 5, 2015. The International Speech Contest format is a five to seven-minute speech on a topic of the speaker’s choice. Cynthia Long earned a first-place win and Cynthia Jenkins took second place.


The annual Table Topics Contest was held on the same date. In this contest, the participants give a one to two-minute response to a question. Donna Hamel earned the first-place win followed by Eilish Bel in second place.

The first and second place winners of both contests will compete in the Area 10 Contest on Saturday, March 7th. Contestants must earn a first-place win at every level of the contest to remain in the competition. The club level International Speech Contest is the entry-level to the World Championship of Public Speaking which will take place this August at Toastmasters International Annual Conference.

Downtown St. Pete Toastmasters is open to anyone over the age of 18. We welcome guests and new members at all times.
