Drug-Laced Gummies Send Boca Ciega Students To Hospital

Four Boca Ciega High School students were taken to Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital as a precaution following the appearance of drug-laced gummie candies on the Gulfport campus Monday. According to Pinellas County Schools, a student brought the candy in Monday and passed pieces around.

Tampa Bay Frontier Communications Complaints Linger

Arrest Made In Plant City Gas Station Homicide

The Plant City Police Department has announced the arrest of a 19-year-old man in connection with an attempted armed robbery and homicide at a gas station last week. According to the agency, Michael Joseph Beson, 67, of Standish, Mich., was pumping gas at the 2010 N. Wheeler St. Mobile station on Friday around 8:20 p.m. when an armed robbery attempt occurred.

$40 Million Deal Struck By Yankees, Tampa Sports Authority

Tampa Bay area New York Yankees’ fans may have something to get excited about. The Tampa Sports Authority announced Monday that it has reached a tentative agreement that would keep the team in town through 2046, provided more than $40 million in renovations are made to George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Red Tide Creating Problems Along Tampa Bay Shores

Tampa Bay area residents and visitors might want to check conditions before heading out to some local beaches. A red tide bloom has been reported offshore of Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota counties with reports of respiratory irritation and fish kills coming in.

four-hour search for a missing kayaker in waters off Tarpon Springs paid off with a rescue late Sunday night. According to the U.S. Coast Guard, an air and surface search mission was launched for the missing 17-year-old around 6 p.m. Sunday when her family reported her missing.
