Jannus Live presents this benefit concert to enable the St. Petersburg Police Department to participate in the 12th annual Police Unity Tour in May, where select officers bicycle 250 miles from Virginia to Washington, D.C., to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Three city police officers who were killed in the line of duty last year -- Tom Baitinger, Jeffrey Yaslowitz and David Crawford -- will be honored at the memorial with their names engraved on it.
The group needs money for transportation for the cycling officers and support people to and from Virginia, as well as lodging and related expenses, organizers say.
Performing are the rock groups the Greg Billings Band and Pitbull Toddler, led by 105.5 FM radio personality Cowhead.
