Japan Tsunami: The Science Behind the Tsunami and Its Aftermath

Part of the Pier Aquarium’s SciCafé, this conversation brings together people who will talk about the March 11 Japan tsunami that caused an estimated $308 billion in damage. Guest scientists are Charlie Paxton, meteorologist and science and operations officer, Tampa Bay Area National Weather Service Office; Eric Steimle, Ph.D., owner of St. Petersburg-based Applied Environmental and Ocean Sciences (AEOS); and Karen Dreger, research technician, University of South Florida Center for Ocean Technology.
