Play: “Rip. Tied.”

The theater says this new play is “inspired by African folk tales used to explain the disappearance of runaway slaves as literally flying away to freedom.” It explores family and “the value of self-determination” by introducing a couple who live in a “sleepy Southern town, in a crooked crazy house, where love is tucked into dark secret places, where people die without dying, and where it may be possible to fly.”
