Florida Primary 2016: How Tampa Bay Area Counties Voted
Find out which candidates residents in your county and those nearby backed in the race for party nominations.
Wonder which presidential hopefuls Tampa Bay area residents voted for in Tuesday’s 2016 Presidential Preference Primary?
We did, too! So, we sat down and took a look at the unofficial results in Tuesday’s primaries by county. Overall, Pinellas, Sarasota, Manatee, Hillsborough and Pasco counties didn’t buck the statewide trend. Hillary Clinton won each of those counties by a landslide over Democrat opponent Sen. Bernie Sanders. Donald Trump also took all five counties with a sizable lead over second-place winner Sen. Marco Rubio on the Republican side. Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. John Kasich took the third and fourth-place Republican spots, respectively, as well.
Some candidates who have departed the race remained on the ballots, and some managed to pull in more than a handful of votes. To find out how candidates fared in each county, click through for the results:
