Halfacre Construction Company wraps up Sarasota County Tax Collector and Property Appraiser building remodel
Halfacre Construction Company recently wrapped up a renovation of the Sarasota County Tax Collector and Property Appraiser building.
Halfacre Construction Company (HalfacreConstruction.com), the area’s oldest, most established, locally owned and operated private commercial construction company, recently wrapped up a multi-phase renovation of the Sarasota County Tax Collector and Property Appraiser building.
The remodeling, which began July 2015, was completed on time and on budget early this month, taking only about six months to finish. The project included a complete interior renovation of the Sarasota County Tax Collector and Property Appraiser offices on the first floor of the Terrace Building. These areas received new finishes, electric and systems updates, enhanced workspace areas and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).
During the entire complex renovation, all public services remained functional and operational to the public.

”This was a great team effort between Halfacre Construction Company, Fawley Bryant Architects, Sarasota County officials and the Tax Collector staff on an important project,” said Jack Cox, president of Halfacre Construction Company. “These historical restoration projects are important to our community, and our team enjoyed safely renovating the facility with minimal interruption to the ongoing operations within the building.”
This $1.2 million renovation was part of the yearlong, phased restoration project on the Terrace Administration Building. Located at 101 S. Washington Blvd. in Sarasota, the building originally known as the Sarasota Terrace Hotel was constructed in 1925 by Charles Ringling, president of the company. At 11 stories, 125 rooms and a construction cost of nearly $750,000, the Sarasota Terrace Hotel was touted as one of the finest in Florida. Since its construction, the building has been renovated several times.
