Lee Wetherington Homes named exclusive builder for Rivetta community

Lee Wetherington Homes (www.LWHomes.com), a Lakewood Ranch-based homebuilder, has been named the exclusive builder and general contractor for a new nine-homesite community in Sarasota.

The Rivetta community is in an ideal location on Proctor Road, convenient to The Landings, downtown Sarasota and top-rated schools, including Philippi Shores Elementary School and Riverview High School.

Two sites in the community have already been reserved for a 5,000-square-foot home, and a 3,300-square-foot feature home called The Stillwater is under construction now and offered for $1,399,000.

The single cul-de-sac community has several sought-after features, including its own basin where homeowners can dock their boats and a one-acre park setting near the water, lush with trees and mangroves.

Rivetta developer Richard Ross said the community will appeal to a wide variety of homeowners, from younger families and retirees to boaters who are seeking proximity to water.

“This community has some special features that you don’t find anymore,” Ross said. “Boaters want to be able to go out the back door, get in the boat and be on the water – that’s really what they’re looking for.”

Ross and Wetherington have worked together in the past, forming a building company together in the 1970s and teaming up on the Willowbrook community in Palmer Ranch several years ago.

“Between what I do to develop the property and what Lee does with the homes, I think there’s going to be tremendous value here,” Ross said.
