Local church will serve more, with help from local construction company

Northwest Church of Christ will soon be serving more children and adults with a nearly 15,000-square-foot addition

St. Petersburg, Fla. (February 17, 2014) -- By this time next year, Northwest Church of Christ (6355 38th Avenue North) will be serving more children and adults with a nearly 15,000-square-foot addition that will significantly increase classroom space and office space, among other benefits.

P.J. Callaghan Construction is spearheading the project, and worked closely with church officials from the beginning of the process to help identify several budget-saving opportunities (what the company calls “value-engineering”). P.J Callaghan – which has multiple employees that have long-attended the church – also worked out an arrangement where they’re doing the work at near cost.

Helming the four-generation, family-run company, President John Burket said, “We aim to do business like a family – with our employees, with our clients, and in the community. When Tom [SVP, John’s son] talked through the church’s goals and needs, it was a no-brainer, we wanted to do the work and wanted to help where we could.”
