Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association endorses Robinson's candidacy

Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association has endorsed Eric Robinson for his candidacy for the District 3 Sarasota County School Board.

The Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association (MSBIA), a membership-driven networking and advocacy group focused on the needs of the building and development industry and related businesses in Manatee and Sarasota Counties, has endorsed Eric Robinson (EricRobinsonforSchoolBoard.com) for his candidacy for the District 3 Sarasota County School Board.

“On behalf of the Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association, the board of directors, the government affairs committee and staff, we are pleased to announce our unanimous endorsement of your candidacy for Sarasota County School Board – District 3,” said Jon Mast, chief executive officer of MSBIA. “We offer you our support for your campaign and look forward to your victory in both the primary and general elections in 2016.”

A Sarasota resident since 2001, Robinson announced his intention to run for the 2016 District 3 Sarasota County School Board opening in July 2015. He specializes in tax planning and services for individuals and small business clients as a shareholder, founder and chief financial officer of Robinson, Hanks, Young and Roberts, CPA. He is also an active member of the Sarasota County School Board financial advisory committee.

“The technical careers taught at Suncoast Technical College are training the workers of the future today,” said Robinson. “The construction industry recognizes and supports investing in a trained and educated workforce. The organization’s members attend our schools and truly care about the quality of education in Sarasota County.”

Robinson currently serves the Sarasota community at Robinson, Hanks, Young and Roberts, CPA, which he opened in 2004. He was previously appointed to prestigious positions by Jeb Bush, such as the statewide Workforce Florida as the finance chairman (served four years) and the chairman of the Sarasota Bradenton Airport Authority. He has also served as treasurer for several high profile political campaigns for conservative candidates in Florida.

Robinson’s career started with the Department of Justice, where he worked for three years as a contracting officer. He has also worked as a contractor manager for the American Welding Society, purchasing director for Lucent Technologies and started Senior Networks, a data networking company that restored computers and worked with new wireless advances. His clients included the University of Miami, St. Thomas University, School Boards throughout Florida, hospitals and more.
