Motorcyclist Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Tyrone Blvd. Crash
BREAKING: The man was thrown 90 feet in the accident Monday evening, police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A 21-year-old man is being treated for life-threatening injuries after colliding with a vehicle and being thrown 90 feet Monday evening on Tyrone Boulevard, the St. Petersburg Police Department said this morning.
Officers said the motorcyclist was on a 2005 Suzuki and traveling southeast on Tyrone at a high rate of speed when at 9:26 p.m. a 2012 Nissan Altima heading northwest on Tyrone turned left in front of the motorcycle onto 33rd Avenue North.
"Due to the high rate of speed, (the motorcyclist) was unable to stop or avoid (the vehicle) and the front of the motorcycle struck the right rear of the Nissan," police said, adding that the motorcyclist was thrown and landed more than 90 feet away from the point of impact.

He was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
No information was released whether the Nissan driver, a 61-year-old man, suffered any injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
