Pairing Wine With Your Day Job
Being a wine consultant is an ideal part-time work from home opportunity that fits well with busy professionals who love wine.

By: Brian McGuire, Independent Wine Consultant, WineShop At Home
In addition to my growing wine business, I work a corporate job. It’s the classic 60ish hours per week kind of gig either in my office or on the road. I travel frequently. My professional life is full of things that need to get done.
And yet, I’ve spent quite a bit of time thinking about what I really want out of life. I love my corporate job, but that’s not the only way I want to spend my time. Life is full of amazing opportunities—and when I started my business with WineShop At Home, I decided that I wanted to experience a few of them.

How it all started
The process of starting and building this business was more like a “let’s give this a try” venture. I’ve never been a wine expert (I’m still not...don’t need to be)—but I’ve always enjoyed wine. I also enjoy people, and have always loved the idea of doing something with my time that would provide others with a source of enjoyment.
This business (which I started about a year ago) has allowed me to do these things—and so many more. I found that fitting my wine business into my already very busy life wasn’t a problem—because being a wine consultant allows you to make your own schedule and call your own shots. The company also provides a lot of resources to support your efforts—which helps to cut down on costs and streamlines the process for the people on the front lines.

What if I don’t have time for another career?
This is a question that I hear a lot. There are a lot of people out there who want something more out of life. Like me, they want an encore career. They want to increase their earnings potential. They want to pay off their mortgage or fund an annual family vacation. They want a career that they can be passionate about. They want to make their own choices and work for themselves.
These are all great reasons to strike out on your own—but doing it without some sort of groundwork is often either too risky or unrealistic.
WineShop At Home, however, makes it possible—and here’s why…
How WineShop At Home can provide you with what you’ve always wanted
You want control of your life. You want to be successful. You don’t want to rely on other people to improve your circumstances.
Trust me—I understand. I’ve been there, and that’s why I started this business.
Home-based work opportunities that are both flexible and profitable simply don’t happen that often—but this is a different type of opportunity. With this job, you can increase your earnings potential while operating as your own boss. You get access to artisan, hand-crafted wines that can’t be bought in any stores, and you get the tools and training to help you be successful. Plus, our business model is super low-risk. You don’t need a ton of capital to get started either, which is a huge bonus!
If I can do it, so can you!I work a lot of hours at my corporate job—and yet, I still have time to do this. Not only that, but putting on wine tastings is probably one of my new favorite things to do. Even if your “corporate” job is being the CEO of “Mommy, Inc” as you nurture a growing and busy family you can do it (we have LOTS of busy moms who are very successful in our business).
(With the possible exception of training and helping new consultants start their own wine journey!)
It gives me a chance to roll up my sleeves, pour some amazing wines, socialize, be myself, and provide a positive, enjoyable experience for the people around me.
This is the real-deal—and if it sounds like something that you might enjoy as well, then maybe becoming a wine consultant is the perfect way to pair wine with your day job—and earn an impressive income in the process!
