Pedestrian Killed In St. Pete Crash Identified
The hit-and-run crash happened early Monday afternoon, according to St. Petersburg Police.

St. Petersburg, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street that occurred Monday afternoon.
According to the agency, the driver of a Chrysler 300 hit a man at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street and 22nd Avenue South. After striking the man, police say the driver got out of the car and ran from the scene.
Police identified the victim as Jeron A. Davis, 30, late Monday afternoon. Davis died at the scene, police said.

The crash has forced the closing of Martin Luther King Jr. Street from 20th Avenue South to 22nd Avenue South. Just before 5 p.m. Monday, police said the road closing would likely last a few more hours.
