Person Shot In St. Pete Parking Garage

A search for the person responsible for shooting another in the foot at the Midcore parking garage is under way.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — After hearing shots fired around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, St. Petersburg Police quickly responded to the Midcore parking garage on 2nd Street North.

When they arrived at the 117 2nd St. N. garage, they found a person sitting in a stopped vehicle with a gunshot wound to the foot. The people inside the vehicle told officers they had gotten into a verbal dispute with the occupants of another vehicle, an email from the police department said.

At some point during the dispute, the victim threw an object at the other vehicle, the email said. Someone inside the other car, however, pulled out a gun and opened fire, hitting the victim in the foot, the email said.

Officers searched the garage and were able to find a casing and bullet fragments at the scene, the email said. No further information is available at this time.
