The Pit Project at Pet Pal!

Pet Pal Animal Shelter is on a Mission to rescue and find homes for this tenacious and loyal breed!

What is The Pit Project?

The Pit Project is a program being offered by Pet Pal Animal Shelter with a goal of rescuing and adopting out more Pit Bulls by educating adopters about the breed. While at the shelter, all Pit Bull Terriers and Pit mixes will receive temperament testing and evaluations from CDPT certified trainers. Once these dogs have been assessed, a training regimen will be put into place to keep them active and motivated during their stay at the shelter.

Pit Bulls are a misunderstood and often mistreated breed of dog. As a result, shelters across America are facing an increase in the number of Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes that are being surrendered because their owners could not or would not properly care for their animals. Our new program will help us to rescue and find homes for this tenacious and loyal breed.

Sponsor one of our adoptable pit bulls for $100. This sponsorship goes a long way to getting these great dogs adopted. The adoption fee for a sponsored Pit Bull is $75

Adopt a sponsored pit bull:

All of our Pit Bulls are evaluated upon arrival to our shelter. Once these dogs have been assessed, a training regimen is put into place to keep them active and motivated during their stay at the shelter. Each sponsored pit bull at Pet Pal Animal Shelter will go home with a special adoption package.

This package includes:

A crate, leash and collar, a kong toy, one free vet visit, and a month’s supply of flea & heartworm protection, a bag of dog food, and a free group training class at the shelter to provide guidance in leadership skills for all family members.
