Sarasota County School Board candidate Eric Robinson presents at Degrees to Jobs Summit

Eric Robinson (EricRobinsonforSchoolBoard.com), a District 3 Sarasota County School Board candidate, recently spoke at Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s Degrees to Jobs Summit in Orlando, Fla.
Robinson, who was asked to participate by the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, attended the August 25 summit to discuss personnel management strategies in schools.
“I was honored and humbled to be asked to participate in this summit and be surrounded by the top workforce and education leaders in our state,” said Robinson. “It was a wonderful opportunity to connect and share ideas about how to make our education system better.”

About 500 people attended the summit. The panel, which included Marcos Marchena, University of Central Florida trustee chair; Mike Mattimore, Florida’s chief negotiator; and Eduardo Padrón, Miami Dade College president; was moderated by Thomas Kuntz, Board of Governors chairman.

Robinson currently serves the Sarasota community at Robinson, Hanks, Young and Roberts, CPA, which he opened in 2004. He was previously appointed to prestigious positions by Jeb Bush, such as the statewide Workforce Florida as the finance chairman (served four years) and the chairman of the Sarasota Bradenton Airport Authority. He has also served as treasurer for several high profile political campaigns for conservative candidates in Florida.
Robinson’s career started with the Department of Justice, where he worked for three years as a contracting officer. He has also worked as a contractor manager for the American Welding Society, purchasing director for Lucent Technologies and started Senior Networks, a data networking company that restored computers and worked with new wireless advances. His clients included the University of Miami, St. Thomas University, School Boards throughout Florida, hospitals and more.
