Shumaker, Loop and Kendrick's fundraising efforts raise $6,000 for local charities

The Sarasota office of Shumaker, Loop and Kendrick, LLP (www.SLK-Law.com), a full-service business law firm, has raised $6,000 this year to award to area nonprofit organizations through its fundraising efforts.

Leadership Shumaker Sarasota, the philanthropic arm of the Sarasota law firm, is awarding four $1,500 checks this month to local nonprofits, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Suncoast, Child Protection Center, Inc., Miracle League of Manasota, Inc. and Safe Place Rape and Crisis Center.

“We are so proud of the Leadership Shumaker Sarasota initiative,” said Deirdre F. Aretini, chair of Leadership Shumaker Sarasota and attorney at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick. “We started this program five years ago in 2010, and since that time, we have made $32,000 in donations and contributions to various local nonprofits and community-related events.”

The donations stem from fundraising, special event coordination or through the group’s funds held by the Toledo Community Foundation.
