St. Pete Double Shooting Under Investigation
Two men were injured in the Thursday afternoon shooting on 24th Street South.

St. Petersburg, FL – The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a double shooting that occurred in the 1300 block of 24th Street South Thursday afternoon.
According to the agency, two men were walking north on 24th Street when they were approached by a red car. Someone in the front passenger seat fired at both men several times. The victims were both shot in the upper torso, police said.
Latherio Witcher, 23, suffered serious injuries, police said in an email to media. Tiwan Jones, 19, suffered minor injuries. Both men were taken to Bayfront Health Medical Center with what are being described as non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the motive in the shooting is unclear at this time. No further information is being released.
