St. Pete Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash Identified

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — As St. Petersburg Police continue to investigate a fatal Friday night hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian, they’ve released the name of the man killed.

According to the agency Michael Diaz-Vann, 25, was struck by a vehicle in the area of 34th Street South and 15th Avenue South at some point before 7 p.m. Dec. 2. The vehicle involved did not stop.

Diaz-Vann was pronounced dead shortly after the crash.

Police have not released a description of the vehicle involved or further information about the circumstances. They have said that the agency’s traffic homicide unit is actively investigating the case.
