St. Pete Police Make Arrest In Shooting Of Woman In Back Yard
St. Petersburg Police have arrested a 37-year-old man in the shooting death of a 27-year-old woman on Thursday, Nov. 1.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- St. Petersburg Police have arrested a 37-year-old man in the shooting death of a 27-year-old woman on Thursday, Nov. 1.
Marco Nicholas was taken into custody in Plant City and charged with second-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm for the shooting death of Christina Veronica Rush.
Rush was discovered in a back yard in the 1000 block of 15th Avenue South shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1.

Police were called after neighbors heard an altercation and then a gunshot. When police arrived, they found Rush still alive. They performed CPR until she was transported to the hospital, where she later died (see related story).
