St. Pete Woman Dies in Gulfport Motorcycle Crash
Breaking: A 24-year-old St. Petersburg woman is dead following a Thursday night motorcycle crash in Gulfport.

GULFPORT, FL — A Thursday night crash along 49th Street South in Gulfport has left a 24-year-old St. Petersburg woman dead.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Armaletha M. Wesley was riding a 2015 Leike motorcycle southbound in the median on 49th Street South around 8:15 p.m. Sept. 29. At that time, a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Ronald Hillman, 51, of Gulfport, was heading east on Jersey Avenue South.
Deputies say Hillman made a north turn onto 49th Street, pulling in front of the motorcyclist.

“Investigators say that Wesley was not wearing a helmet,” an email from the sheriff’s office said. Wesley died on the way to a local hospital, the agency noted.
While the investigation continues, deputies say speed and alcohol are not suspected to have played roles in the crash. No further information is available at this time.
