St. Petersburg Free Clinic appoints chairman, adds Board members
Michael Bice transitions into chairman position; five local leaders join the Board of Directors
St. Petersburg Free Clinic is pleased to appoint three new executive officers and add five new board members to its Board of Directors. Board members provide oversight and input on strategy for St. Petersburg Free Clinic, which provides food, shelter and healthcare services for Pinellas County residents.
Michael Bice, a retired healthcare professional, has been named chair of the Board of Directors for a two-year term. Bill Van Law, president of the investment advisors division at Raymond James Financial, is now vice chair and Matt Frey, partner at Frey Masterson Investment Advisors, is treasurer. Janice Sharp, associate publisher of Florida Trend, is continuing her term as secretary.
In addition, five new members have joined St. Petersburg Free Clinic’s 22-member Board of Directors:

- Valerie DiGennaro, managing partner at Seabridge Wealth Management,
- Bert Martin, vice president of The Tampa Bay Trust Company,

- Sarah Lind Ribeiro, former deputy mayor of schools and policy for the city of St. Petersburg,
- William Sweeney, president of Eiger Leadership, and
- John V. Tucker, an attorney at Tucker and Ludin Attorneys.
“Our board members play an important role in the continued advancement of the Free Clinic’s mission,” said Beth Houghton, executive director of St. Petersburg Free Clinic. “The time, knowledge and resources that they give to the Free Clinic make a huge impact on our neighbors in need.”
Board members are elected for a three-year term, and take an active role in fundraising and strategic planning. During their tenure, they are responsible for monitoring the implementation of plans, policy and fiscal matters; serving on organizational committees; and helping to build connections in order to raise awareness about the Free Clinic’s eight programs.
