Dispute Between Brothers Led To Shooting, Cops Say

One of the brothers was taken to the hospital following the Wednesday morning shooting in St. Petersburg.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a Wednesday morning shooting that involved two brothers.

According to police, Antwan Bowman, 19, and Marquell Bowman, 22, became involved in an argument at their 2035 13th St. S. home around 10:36 a.m. Antwan, police wrote in an email, shot his brother in the upper body.

"Antwan left the area on foot and was quickly arrested by responding officers at 19th Avenue South and 15th Street," the email said. "Marquell was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Hospital. Marquell's injuries are non life-threatening at this time."

Police recovered the handgun reportedly used in the shooting near the home, the agency noted.

It is unclear what the two brothers were fighting about.
