Third Teen Charged In Fatal Shooting Of 15-Year-Old: St. Pete Police

A third teenager faces murder charge in the Dec. 29 fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A third teenager faces charges in the Dec. 29 fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.

The third suspect, 18-year-old Jeremiah Davis, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Zy'Kiquiro Lofton.

Davis, a 12th grader at Gibbs High School, was arrested at dismissal on Friday, police said. When he was taken into custody, officers found a handgun in his possession and he was also charged with possession of a weapon on school property.

Witnesses told WFTS that he was chased by three other young men before being shot near the PURE gas station at that intersection.

David Moore, 18, was charged Feb. 14 with first-degree felony murder in the teen’s death.

A 17-year-old was also charged with first-degree felony murder the day after the shooting.

While police released that suspect's name, it is Patch's policy not to identify those in the juvenile court system. Patch has reached out to St. Petersburg police about whether the suspect is being charged as an adult or juvenile.
