The Women's Resource Center of Sarasota County celebrates women with annual luncheon
The Women's Resource Center of Sarasota County is hosting New Leaf on Life Fall Gathering and Luncheon on Friday, Nov. 6.

The Women’s Resource Center of Sarasota County (www.TheWomensResourceCenter.org), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating and empowering women in Sarasota County and enriching their lives, is hosting New Leaf on Life Fall Gathering and Luncheon on Friday, Nov. 6 at the Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice to celebrate the lives of the thousands of women the nonprofit serves.
This annual fundraiser will feature educator Baila Miller, who will interactively explore the history of the Women’s Building at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Ill. in 1893. The building was erected to celebrate women’s accomplishments throughout history. The very talented Vocal Vixens trio will also provide the entertainment.
Benefiting the Women’s Resource Center of Sarasota County (WRCSC), the event will begin at 10:30 a.m. for registration and shopping with the luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Guests can look forward to deluxe drawing prizes, a wine wall and accessories available for purchase by Encore & more Consignment Shop, the WRCSC’s fashion-focused boutique in downtown Sarasota. A new feature at this year’s event is a wine wall. For $20, attendees can purchase a ticket and choose a bottle of wine that retails between $20 to over $100.

Through Baila Miller’s company, Miller Music and Fine Arts Programs, she presents college-level courses that explore the role of literature, paintings, architecture, sculpture, cinema and photography as well as orchestral and operatic influences in the development of European, Jewish and modern American culture. Miller has taught at The Brandeis National Committee, The Ringling Library at Florida State University, Road Scholar, Pierian Spring Academy, Longboat Key Education Center, Art Center Sarasota and The Ringling College of Art & Design.
