Suspect hunted down after attack on fellow customer at Walgreens in The Villages (villages-news.com) ā A woman from Lady Lake was arrested after an alleged battery on another customer at the Walgreens in the Spanish Plaines shopping center in The Villages, following a dispute over her autistic toddlerās screaming. Investigators used store transaction data, surveillance video, and social media to identify her, and she later turned herself in at the Sumter County Sheriffās Office before being released on bond.

2. Man from The Villages arrested, accused of chasing, threatening would-be āsugar baby' (snntv.com) ā A resident of The Villages was arrested after deputies say he chased a car carrying a woman he met on Tinder and her friends, rammed their vehicle near a Sumter County roundabout, and briefly pointed a gun at one passenger. The man now faces aggravated assault and aggravated battery charges stemming from the incident.

Villager arrested after trying to prevent man from renewing his license (villages-news.com) ā A 76-year-old Villages resident from the Village of Belvedere was arrested after deputies say she repeatedly pushed a car door into a man while trying to stop him from driving to renew his license. Both reported minor injuries, and deputies deemed her the primary aggressor before booking and later releasing her on her own recognizance.

4. Paisley Craze parties like it's 1965 (floridaweekly.com) ā A Sarasota-based 1960s tribute band, Paisley Craze, is stepping in for a canceled Woodstock show and regularly plays to crowds of up to 1,000 in The Villages. Band members say Villagers are some of their most enthusiastic babyāboomer audiences, singing along to everything from Beatles and Motown hits to psychedelic rock classics at their highāenergy dance shows across Florida.
