• Resident of The Villages arrested after ‘anatomically incorrect' bulge found in underwear (villages-news.com) — Law enforcement in a neighboring city arrested a Village of Silver Lake resident after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. The incident began when Fruitland Park police noticed a seatbelt violation and suspected narcotics in the vehicle. The Villages resident faces a felony drug possession charge and was released on bond from Lake County Jail. 
• Villager who ran stop sign winds up paying steep price (villages-news.com) — A resident from the Historic Side of The Villages was arrested after a deputy stopped him for running a stop sign and discovered his license was suspended. The early-morning stop happened as he exited a nearby retail area onto U.S. 441. He was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center on the suspension charge and released on bond.
