The Real Reason Why Home Prices in The Villages Are Falling (lmtonline.com) — If you own or are eyeing a home in The Villages, prices have eased from a 2022 peak as the number of listings has climbed. Local Realtors explain how many longtime residents are now selling, new construction keeps adding supply, and the market is essentially correcting from its pandemic-era spike rather than collapsing.
   

2. How gas prices have changed in The Villages in the last week (wduv.com) — Drivers in The Villages are paying about $4.13 for regular gas as of September 14, slightly under the Florida average but up 28 cents in a week. Diesel has jumped even more sharply and just hit its highest recorded price, giving local commuters and golf-cart owners reason to keep a closer eye on fuel costs.
   

3. Intoxicated man gets into dispute with lady friend over golf cart keys (villages-news.com) — Local public safety crews and Lady Lake police responded to a domestic disturbance involving a 74-year-old man allegedly drunk and damaging property at a home tied to The Villages. Officers say a dispute over golf cart keys escalated into shoving, scattered books, and broken glass before the man was arrested on battery and resisting charges and taken to Lake County Jail.
   

4. Officials hear plans for new Chick-fil-A restaurant (villages-news.com) — A new Chick-fil-A has been approved for County Road 466A in Wildwood, just across from Pinellas Plaza and a short hop from The Villages. The 5,200-square-foot restaurant will feature drive-through lanes and 73 parking spaces, adding another fast-food option alongside the existing Chick-fil-A at Rolling Acres Plaza that many Villagers already frequent.
   

5. Ann Williams (ky-leadernews.com) — Lady Lake resident Ann Williams, 99, passed away September 8 at Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages, leaving behind children in Lady Lake and Fruitland Park and a large extended family. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City, with friends encouraged to honor her through donations to a favorite charity or her longtime church.
