Lau, who was fired in June for refusing post-crash drug and alcohol testing, had led the Titusville Police Department for 13 years and was widely known for community outreach.
   

• Florida woman dies after driver hits alligator on I-95, sparking deadly rollover (thecooldown.com) — A 20-year-old Palm Bay woman died after her pickup overturned on I-95 near mile marker 214 in Titusville when she swerved to avoid a car that had just struck an alligator.
